Design background

I’m an Amsterdam based, Australian born Graphic & Interior Designer. I spent the first two decades of my career as a Graphic Designer, specialising in strategic brand identity design (brand strategy, logo design, color palette, typography) and designing all aspects that go along with it, including 3d environments like retail and interior spaces, for some of the world’s biggest brands. A big part of that role was to help define the client’s needs and translate them into design concepts for a wide range of audiences. After renovating our own home, I tapped back into my love for Interior Design, having started my career in Melbourne drawing floorplans for Real Estate magazines. It also gave me first hand experience of the kind of issues (and stress) that arise on renovation projects. I’ve since designed both modern and traditional Interiors, enjoying the challenges and opportunities that both spaces present.

Design approach

It’s your home, not mine. Its important to me, as an Interior Designer, that the interiors I design for my client’s taste, not my own. For a house to feel like a home, it should reflect the client’s own style - even if they don’t know themselves. I do my best to listen, digest and determine what style best fits my client - working alongside them to ensure the overall design feels like their home, whatever their aesthetic might be.

It’s all about the details. When renovating a home there are a thousand decisions to make. The more details we determine in the design phase, the smoother the build, and the more money you’ll save in construction. I aim to make that entire process for my clients as easy as possible, and ensure nothing gets missed along the way.

Interior Design should save you money. I believe having an Interior Designer, like myself, design your home should save you money. I’ve done the research, sourced the materials & finishes and met with the suppliers - for all types of budgets. Working with regular suppliers also means I can pass on the discounts I receive, for example with Kitchen Suppliers, often saving clients thousands of Euros.

Renovating need not be stressful. Renovating may well seem like an overwhelming task, and many clients don’t know where to start, however in reality, renovating is a linear, straightforward process. I aim to make the whole process as stress-free as possible by preparing clients for potential issues before they arise.
