Services

There are several parts to the Interior Design process, which can seem overwhelming. Some clients say ‘I don’t know where to start’, others have clear ideas and only need help with certain aspects, like technical drawings, colour advice or moodboards with a furniture shopping list to match. Below are a list of all the design services that I offer, so clients can choose what aspects they’d like help with, and which aspects they’ve already got covered.

Interior Moodboards & Product Research

A fresh coat of paint and some new furniture can be all it takes to make a house feel like a home. I help clients find their own design aesthetic, and then research and source materials and furniture based upon the budget, and provide a list of furniture and styling items, so client’s can order and purchase them directly.

Floorplans

A 2D floorpan with a furniture layout helps bring a vision of a home to life. For clients making bigger changes, a re-configured floor-plan can completely transform a space, often making a small space feel much bigger. I visit my client’s homes and measure to ensure we’re working with accurate dimensions, or I can work from exisiting floorpans as a base. Below are examples from recent projects where one client wanted a floorplan reconfigured, and another in combination with the above Interior Moodboards and Product Research.

3D visuals

If you want to see how your home looks in 3D prior to renovating, then taking that one step further and having 3D visuals of the new Interior of your home is the way to go. Designing for rooms in this aspect gets a little more complicated, as the requirements of a room without plumbing is a lot more straightforward than say a kitchen or bathroom. For that reason I’ve outlined the three different types of spaces below and what’s included.

Rooms without plumbing

Includes: 3D visuals and elevation drawings of any custom built joinery to provide to tradesmen.

Kitchens

Includes: 3D visuals and elevation drawings of entire kitchen to brief tradesmen and Kitchen suppliers for production of your new kitchen, and demolition of your exisiting (where relevant). Can also include: Visiting a recommended Kitchen supplier with the client.

Bathrooms

Includes: 3D visuals and elevation drawings of entire bathroom to brief tradesmen for construction of your new bathroom, and demolition of your exisiting. Can also include: Product Research of fixtures & finishes and shopping list - for example tiles based on calculated amount (m2), bathroom furniture, sanitary items (eg: shower, faucet, bathtub) and styling items.

Project Planning

Its easy to underestimated the time, details, specifications and I hate to say it spreadsheets, needed to make a renovation project run smoothly. From ordering materials and finishes, ensuring those items deliver when they’re needed, organising your renovation can be a full time job of it’s own. I offer planning advice, budgeting tools and timeline suggestions to allow clients to renovate directly with tradesmen in a clear, step by step process.

Introduction to trades & suppliers

I’ve worked with some great Builders, Electricians, Plumbers and Painters whom I happily introduce clients to. I can also offer the service of briefing trades along with the client, or meeting with Kitchen suppliers for ordering your kitchen. It’s also common that a design needs to shift and change on site, once demolition begins and the building itself reveals both opportunities and sometimes challenges. I can be available for site visits should problems arise if you not feel comfortable to problem solve on site with the help of your chosen builder.

Micala is such a good listener. She incorporated things we’d said in
passing into the design, it totally feels like our home and we love living in it.
