My client wanted to add an office/guest bedroom to their contemporary apartment — along with a new bathroom, a minimal new kitchen with island, and a cosmetic refresh throughout. Making it all work meant thinking differently. By reconfiguring the layout and adding a stepped wall, I created room for a new minimal kitchen with island, a home office with floating desk, built-in shelves, LED lighting and plenty of storage — and a space that doubles as a bedroom should they ever want to sell as a three-bedroom apartment. Better planning, no dead space, and the room feels just as generous as before.
